The fabric is then snapped onto the tonneau cover frame. When rolled up, the fabric support bows are stored loosely in the truck bed or left at home. 4functional, but not great!
By Bruce D. Clark
I spent a lot of time researching tonneau covers before I bought this one. I was concerned about a couple other reviews on the Extang brand name, but overall the reviews were good. My deciding factor was the price and the fact that it was available from Amazon and not some other vendor. I do a lot of purchasing through Amazon for my classroom supplies, mainly power tools and accessories (wood shop teacher). I've had limited satisfaction through other vendors, so I tend to stick with Amazon.

I've only got two complaints about the Extang Classic. 1st...it's not long enough. Realistically it's about an inch or 2 too short. I had to "fudge" the placement so that it doesn't leave an opening at either one end or the other. The second complaint is that, and this is on a 2007 Ford F150, in the manufacture of the truck there are pins that stick down exactly where Extang wants the clamps to go. The clamps won't fit where they want them to go so you have to move the front and rear clamps either 2 inches forward or backward. It really doesn't affect the function of the tonneau cover other than the support for the cover is not evenly distributed. Both of these are engineering problems and should have been checked for proper fit before they marketed it for that brand of truck. Not good attention to detail on their part. I will give them this benefit of the doubt in that I haven't called them on it yet.

I've only had this cover for about a month, so it really hasn't been tested yet. That will come in the spring and summer when I start hauling my Cub Scouts, Boy Scout, and all their gear to camps. I've got 3 boys so this cover will get a work out. So far I would not discourage anyone from buying this tonneau cover. So far I really like it.
